Summer's Out, Fall's In...Deal With It

Alright folks, let's face it- summer is officially over. The endless sunshine, backyard BBQs and sunny days at the pool? Gone. Poof. Just like that. And sure, fall's coming in with its pumpkin spiced everything and "cozy vibes," but let's be real- those 80 degree weekends are going to be missed.
I always know the end of summer is coming when I'm gearing up for my last summer trip- none other than The Gathering. That's right, The Gathering of the Juggalos. An underground hip-hop festival full of painted faces, mosh pits, and chaos that makes perfect sense in my life. It is just the outlet I need to release all of the pent up energy I've accumulated all summer. Nothing resets the brain like a weekend of mayhem to remind myself that life's too short to be normal all the time.

After a weekend of pure madness, I come back ready to tackle auctions, help families find homes and survive whatever the fall real estate market throws my way. There's a weird symmetry in it- order in work, chaos in life and although it may not always seem like it, it's more controlled than you would think and somehow balances out.
As all of our summer chaos subsides, there's a seasonal shift in real estate and auctions as well. As someone who's been hustling with Re/Max and running Detroit Metro Auctions, right about now I see the change in action every year. People are making moves, sellers are motivated, buyers are serious and there's a lot less nonsense floating around than during the summer. It's a good time to get things done! If you have been thinking it may be time to switch things up, fall is your moment.
So, here's my unsolicited advice: enjoy every last bit of sunshine, grab a pumpkin spice whatever and get ready for a crisp breath of autumn air, and if you are thinking about changing like the seasons, don't wait. And yes- maybe even put on some face paint, dance like a maniac and remind yourself life doesn't always have to be so serious. Fall's here folks. Let's make it count!
